Born in Kolkata,
Dr Tilak Ranjan Bera is an alumnus of Calcutta Medical College.
He postgraduated as an M.S. in Ophthalmology, from the University of Mumbai.
He was a Surgeon Commander at INHS Dhanwantri Naval Hospital, at Port Blair.
He has travelled extensively across India.
Being a naturalist and a keen photographer,
in his books he has captured the natural beauty of India.
